1. Who we are

This website, jl-webdesign.com (the “Site”), is operated by JL Web LLC, a Wyoming limited liability company doing business as JL Web Design (“JL Web”, “we”, “us”). For any privacy question or request, email juan@jl-webdesign.com or call +1 307 533 3085.

2. Information we collect

Information you give us. When you use our contact form, call, text or email us, we collect what you choose to share: typically your name, email address, phone number, company, the type of project you're interested in and your message. If we work together, we'll also collect the details needed to deliver the project and issue invoices, such as your business name and billing address.

Information collected automatically. Like most websites, our hosting server keeps standard access logs: IP address, browser type, device type, pages requested, referring page and timestamps. When you submit the contact form we also record the time of submission and your IP address to help prevent spam and abuse.

Cookies and similar technologies. The Site does not use advertising cookies, analytics cookies or third-party tracking scripts. The Site may store one small, temporary value in your browser's session storage to remember that you've already seen the intro animation. It contains no personal information and is deleted when you close the tab.

3. How we use information

• To respond to your enquiry and discuss your project.
• To provide, invoice and support the services you hire us for.
• To keep records of our communications and agreements.
• To protect the Site and our business from spam, fraud, bots and misuse.
• To comply with legal obligations, such as tax and accounting rules.

We do not use your details for marketing emails or newsletters unless you specifically ask us to, and we never sell or rent personal information to anyone.

4. How we share information

We share personal information only with service providers who help us run the business and who are bound to protect it, such as our web hosting provider (which stores contact-form submissions and server logs), our email provider (which delivers and stores our email), and our banking, invoicing and accounting providers (when we bill you for a project). We may also disclose information if required by law, to enforce our terms, or to protect the rights, property or safety of JL Web, our clients or others. We do not share your information with third parties for their own marketing.

5. How long we keep it

We keep contact-form enquiries for up to two years so we can follow up and refer back to our conversation. If we work together, we keep project records, agreements and invoices for as long as needed to provide the service and to meet legal, tax and accounting requirements, generally seven years after the engagement ends. Server logs are retained for a limited period for security purposes and then deleted or rotated.

6. Your choices and rights

You can ask us at any time to see, correct, update or delete the personal information we hold about you, or to stop contacting you. Email juan@jl-webdesign.com and we'll respond promptly, and in any case within 30 days. We may need to verify your identity first, and we may keep information we're legally required to retain.

California residents. California law lets you ask what personal information a business has collected about you and request that it be deleted, and prohibits discrimination for exercising those rights. We do not sell or share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising, and we have not done so in the past 12 months. Use the contact details above to make a request.

Visitors outside the United States. The Site is operated from the United States, and information you send us is processed and stored there. If you are in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom or another region with data-protection laws, our legal basis for processing your information is your request that we contact you (steps prior to a contract), our legitimate interest in running and securing the Site, and, where applicable, the performance of our agreement with you. You have the rights described above, including the right to complain to your local data-protection authority.

7. Do Not Track

Some browsers offer a “Do Not Track” signal. Because the Site does not track visitors across other websites or use advertising cookies, there is nothing for this signal to switch off, and the Site behaves the same whether or not it is set.

8. Security

The Site is served over HTTPS, and contact-form submissions are stored on access-controlled systems. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we can't guarantee absolute security, but we take reasonable steps to protect your information and we'll notify you as required by law if a breach affects it.

9. Children

The Site is intended for businesses and adults. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 16. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, contact us and we'll delete it.

10. Links to other websites

Our portfolio links to websites we've built for clients, and we may link to other third-party resources. Those sites have their own privacy policies, and we're not responsible for their content or practices.

11. Changes to this policy

If we update this policy, we'll change the effective date at the top of this page and, for significant changes, note it on the Site. Continued use of the Site after a change means you accept the updated policy.
